The Maldives offers more than 60 surf breaks in 10 of its 26 Atolls. Crystal clear water, perfect and constant peeling waves, beautiful surroundings with white sand, palm trees and turquoise blue lagoons await you. Two main areas define the surf destinations here: North & South Male Atolls and the Central Atolls – Maldives Surf Holidays offer them both. They all enjoy the swells that the southern Indian Ocean produces.

From April to October, with bigger swells mainly from June to September, both experienced and intermediate surfers can enjoy perfect surf conditions in these unique and beautiful reef breaks. Surf the Maldives

The waves of the Maldives, whilst not super powerful, offer you big barrels and long fun waves – perfect for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surfing season depends on the Atolls but most are good for surfing from April until October, with March and November also good and having the best weather.

Maldives Itineraries

North Male Atoll has nine surf breaks with most of them being considered World Class Breaks. Two are still ‘private’ waves (Lohi’s and Pasta). Laamu, Meemu, Thaa and Daahlu are the main atolls in the central area delivering the swells that hit the Maldives. Meemu and Laamu receive S/SSE/SE swells.
